pc-tv via svid lead, no sound?

hi,
i have a radeon x1600 series graphics card with a svid out for a second monitor. my tv has a pc input but its vga, i bought an svid extension lead and a lead to convert svid to vga but it doesnt work. i then noticed i have a svid input on my tv too, i plugged the svid lead into the tv from my graphics card and it worked a treat!!! except i dont have any sound and there isnt a sound input for AV5 on my tv only svid. should the svid lead carry sound aswell as the picture? any help appreciated!!!

svideo does not carry sound.

the solution for your problem might be a SCART adapter with svideo/2x phono like the one shown here:
