Comment:

I just installed XP on my laptop and I've got a Netgear 10/100 NIC that was the only piece of hardware that didn't work afterwards.

It gets a "Code 10" or "This device cannot start". I also tried a D-Link card from work and got the same error.

It detects both of them correctly and installs the drivers, but after a reboot it comes up with the error.

Any ideas?

I got the same problem on my desktop computer
with a ISA to PCMCIA adapter... XP doesn't detect it.. and when I add it manually I get a "Code 10" and "This device cannot start".

If someone finds a solution please let me know....

Open regedit and go to
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\System\CurrentControlSet\Services\PCMCIA\Parameters
under Edit->New->DWARD Value set to
Value Name: DisableIsaToPciRouting
Data Type: REG_DWORD
Value: 1
Hope this helps

I have a problem with my SMC Ez Enthernet 8022 Pcmcia network card.I've just installed Windows XP and the only thing that isn't working is my network card.I get a error when i access my card (code 28 the drivers for this device are not installed). I've tried installing the drivers that come with the card but it remains the same. I was looking on the internet to find drivers for Windows Xp,but so far I had no luck.

If anyone can help me or tell me where to find these drivers PLEASE eMAIL me.
