when i tryed it i got "Access Denied". Its the write file cept i think thats for winnt not win xp. I tried to change the name of where it should go. Eg. Expand <CD-ROM DRIVE:>\i386\pci.sy_ c:\Windows\System32\drivers /y. insted of : Expand <CD-ROM DRIVE:>\i386\pci.sy_ c:\Winnt\System32\drivers /y. It expanded then but of course it didnt work at login. if you got any ideas that would b great

So do i put that on a cd and put it in my E: drive and go expand E:\pci.sys C:\windows\system32\drivers /y ? or is there another way. im not sure where to put the file because all the pci.sys problems seem to be only for winnt or win 2000

I FOUND THE PROBLEM. finally, it will work but when i tried at first to copy the file from the WIN XP cd to my HD it came up with "access denied". after doing some serchin i found out to allow access to all files in the recovery consol you need to type in "set AllowAllPaths = true". This will allow you to overwrite files in the directory \Winnt\. Thanks for the help pplz im happy now -> :D
