hey, does anyone know why my computer says that pci.sys is corrupt whenever i add a new SD-ram stick? the ram is fine, and its the right type, and if i remove it it works, but its really starting to annoy me.
i realise there are some guides about this, but this is only corrupt when the new ram is in there, and its XP not 2000

How big of a new stick were you trying to add? We have sattellite's and added ram without a problem. Was wondering if you were trying to go over the limit. You say the ram is fine, did you try it in another system. Could just be a bad stick.

well, it was running in the old sattellite it was in, so it should be working.
and the stick was 256mB [okay, small by todays standards but hey, my laptop works for what i need and its built very sturdy]. unless it has an oddly small limit for ram it should be fine.

oh i should probably add i tried it in both slots, with one or both sticks in, every combination i could think of. so unless its limit is under 256mB i doubt it could be that. am very very confused and have [duh duh duhhhh....] even resorted to the windows site.
