When I start my laptop, I get the following error message:
Error
Resource Conflict - PCI on Motherboard
Bus:00, Device:0C, Function:00It allows me to continue into Windows, but then claims to have found new hardware: "Generic Cardbus Controller." Then, it will not recognize my wireless PCM card adapter (it's a CISCO Air PCM350 series).
I've tried uninstalling and reinstalling the PCMCIA adapter but it comes up again as "Generic."The funny thing is sometimes the boot process goes well and Windows installs the correct PCMCIA adapter: Ricoh R/RL/RT/RC/5C475, R5C520. Then the wireless card works well. The trouble is that after a while (without rebooting) the adapter just disappears, replaced again by the Generic Controller, with the same problems coming up again.
How do I get Windows to stick with the correct adapter?Oskar Chomicki

Go to Device Manager & remove all previous references to the adaptor or any other problems ( including Unknown )

Don't reboot, now go to Add Hardware ( Control Panel ) & try again.

I've uninstalled and reinstalled the devices numerous times. It sometimes helps but most of the time, the Generic Cardbus Controller installs itself. Any thoughts?
