Start Run Msconfig Click selective startup then startup tab. Uncheck entry for PC anywhere.
Also check for a similar shartcut in start all programs startup.
Hope this helps.

The prev solution will only prevent Pcanywhere from starting during system startup, it will not remove the icon from the systray when PcAnywhere is waiting.
However, you can change the following registry settings:
IF YOU ARE NOT KNOWING ABOUT THE SYSTEM REGISTRY, I SUGGEST NOT PERFORMING THE FOLLOWING CHANGE!
1. Exit all open programs.
2. Click Start, and then click Run. The Run dialog box appears.
3. Type regedit in the Open box, and then click OK. The Registry Editor appears.
4. Locate and select the following registry key:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Symantec\pcANYWHERE\CurrentVersion\Host5. Click Edit, point to New, and then click DWORD Value.
6. Rename the DWORD Value to ServiceStealthMode and then press Enter.
7. Press Enter to open the Edit DWORD Value dialog box.
8. Change the Value data to 1, and then click OK.
9. Close the Registry Editor, and then restart Windows for the changes to take effect.
