Hi , i added new RAM today and then after my pc refused to boot , i cleaned it inside and touching different cable in case one have a bad contact and i had to wait 3 hours before he boot , i had same problem last week , the only indice i have is that : when my pc start normaly he make a little clic clac sound who seem to make start something and then he boot , today when he refused to boot i ear this clic clac sound Two time rather then one , like he try to make start something want are not able to make this thing start , after that i have a long beep repeat again and again ( same beep repeated ) so if i understand what is this clic clac sound then i'll know what part of my pc have a problem , do you know what is this clic clac sound ? from where he come ?
Thank's for you help ;)

Put the old ram back in and try it. It may not be compatible or faulty. XP is VERY touchy about ram.

The beeps you are hearing is probably misseated ram. The clic-clac is probably the floppy drive seek. please be more explicit about the beeps. That is crucial.

The beep was longer then normaly , silent and repeat again and again.
If it's a seek floppy drive seek problem what do i have to do ? change the floppy drive ?

I didn't let them ring , i stopped after 2 or 3 , didn't knew it had a importance , Now it's not posssible to make them ring again , this problem happen sometime only , generaly after a reboot or after i open my pc .

Ok let the computer cool down for an hour or so. After that you should be able to hear the rings. List very carefully to the beeps (they may be very faint), ideally in a totally quiet environment.

Try opening the side cover, switch on and determine where the 'clic clac' sounds are coming from - mebbe when u moved some cables u pushed one onto the processor fan (this would explain why u can't restart for awhile - the processor has over-heated !!)

OR, when you checked the cables you reset the floppie wrong. All the hard drives, cd drives are set to the stripe to the right of the drive. The floppie is cabled to the Left of the drive. Opposite to the HD and CD's. Disconnect the floppie drive and see if you get a boot. If so, it is connected wrong on the cable.

OK now i think i understand , i search on internet and see thoses beep are code to decode , Just one last thing , i'am not a pro so i need to know if my motherboard : Gigabyte GA-7VAXFS version 1.0 use thoses use beep code who can be understand from the famous "AMI BIOS BEEP CODES" or anothers code ?
Thank's guys
