I was working on my computer this morning and it suddenly cut out. I tried to turn it back on but there was no response. On closer inspection inside the computer, I could see that the fan above the processor was still running whenever there was a power cable attached to the PSU, and the LED was flashing on the front panel of the PC.
It does not make any sort of noise, and there is no response from either the hard drive or the fan on the PSU.
Does anyone have any ideas as to what the problem could be? I have thought that it may be the PSU that isn't working properly, but am not sure whether this is right or not. Before I go out and buy a new PSU, can anyone reccommend anything?

If the fan is getting power then it most likely isn't the PSU. But you could try to check it with a power tester. What it sounds like is either a bad MOBOD or CPU. If you don't have the right testing tools it is going to take you a while to figure out which of these three components is bad. The only advice I can give you is if the fans are getting power than this usually means the PSU is working. Good Luck
What were you working on when it stopped?

The PSU puts out 5 differnt voltage circuits. If one of these is bad the machine won't work.
