namogabot August 24, 2010 at 12:14:20 Specs: XP Pro, AMD dual core 2gb ram
I have just installed an MSI K9N6PGM2-V2 motherboard. I am running Windows XP Pro. When I shutdown XP it shuts down but the PC keeps running and won't respond to pressing the start button for any length of time to shut the machine down
namogabot, FWIW, Windows seems to have been plagued with shutdown problems of one sort or another since day 1. I use a standalone shutdown proggie (for convenience) called 'Slawdog' (said to work on all versions). Get it free @: http://www.slawdog.com/products/sma... among other places. Works good and I drag/dropped the icon into my quick launch so it'd be handy for use. HTH. Ed in Texas.
