HI, My computer starts with no beep at boot up. Is that normal? My pc does halt suddenly, but because of some hardware or software download. Pl. inform as I could not find such information on net where pc works but no beep at boot.

Are talking about errro code beeps OR POST beeps? Any of the following may be your problem: Faulty PowerSupplyUnit or overheating. Could need a CMOS clear Some bioses don't beep when set to "quick boot"(or similiar),try to uncheck this option and see if beep is back No beep means a short somewhere ??
