Bad memory or overheating are the only two things that spring to mind immediately.

Has this just started to happening (as in it has worked perfectly for weeks/months/years and has only very recently started doing this)?

A second hard drive is leaning me towards overheating to be honest.

Try it with the side of the case off to see if it still crashes - you can get hard drive cooling systems but before shelling out on one of those this will at least point the finger more firmly.

Perhaps your power supply is being taxed to the point that the power drops out. Depending on the hardware you have installed, you may need to think about upgrading your power supply to something a bit heavier.
