pc shuts-down when playing games

My pc shuts-down when playing any game! It just turns of after a few minutes. It only shuts-down when playing games.
My system:
AMD Athlon 2400+ (2.0-ghz). 512-MB DDR.Ram . 128-MB NVIDIA GeForce FX 5200. C-Media sound card, for 5.1 surround sound.

Sorry, James. If you want help then you'll have to look back here. The idea of this forum is to build a reference resource for future use as well as helping solve immediate problems along the way.
As to your problem. Look in EventLog and report back with details of any errors that show that could be the cause of the lockups.

could be an overheating problem. many pcs have a feature to shut themselves down when they reach a certain temp to prevent damage. when you are playing games, alt-tab out frequently and check the CPU temp.
