Hi. I am in desperate need of help on this one. When I try to load up my computer, it recognizes that the hard drive is hooked up however it doesnt seem to load the OS (running Windows XP as of right now) off it...my guess is it uses the memory or something to know what OS its suppose to be loading but then doesnt load it for some reason. It just reboots. I tried loading safe mode and it is the same thing. I also tried a DOS Boot Disk to get into DOS and see if I can access the drive and that is not working either. The only drives I can access are the CD-ROMs and floppies. Attempts have been made to install one of the older versions of Windows on the machine and it won't allow that either. I did get one of the XP error screens that said to reboot and remove any new hardware but the problem is there is no new hardware. My guess is that the hard drive might have died. The hard drive does come up however in the bios setup as well as showing the hard drive is set as the primary master drive. Please help me! This is driving me bonkers!

If you have 2 RAM sticks, try removing one at a time and booting, if you have only one, then make sure it;s seated properly! also make sure everything else is seated properly, ie/ VGA card, NIC, Sound card etc...
Also before you reboot, reset ALL your Bios settings back to default!Hope this helps
let us know the outcome please!
Matt
