Specs: Windows XP, 1 gb
Hi

My PC computer starts properly, but as soon as XP starts up, my screen goes blank. If I push the monitor power button, it comes on (full display) for 1 second, and immediately blacks out again. Anybody has any idea as to why this is happening? I suspect it is an OS problem, but I have no idea. Please let me know.

Have you checked the connections from the monitor to the electrical outlet, and from the monitor to the PC on both ends?

Boot to safe mode. If it comes up ok, try reducing the resolution and refresh settings. One of them might be set too high.

Sounds like a defective graphics adapter. If it's a card, try reseating it.
