I tried safe mode, Recovery console, installing new copy of XP. the problem did not resolve and now it become even worst, now I cannot even go through the loggon screen. it keeps restarting again and again and I do not know what to do. total despair. As a LAST RESORT; get a copy of Partition Magic 8.0 or later and use it (as a boot up disk) to create a new small partition on some empty space.
Then install an operating system to the new partition. Boot to the new OS and start collecting all of the programming he needs to save.
Then format the main partition and load a fresh copy of XP and start over.

You can edit the boot.ini file on C: root so as to disable the splash screen. then you may be able to see whats happening. Add /SOS to the line that starts XP. (after the /fastdetect) make sure you have a space between these. The boot.ini is usually a hidden, system, read-only file, so you will have to enable viewing of hidden files(Windows Explorer, Tools->Folder Options-> View tab) and change the read-only attribute. (Right click on file to view properties)

sounds like it could be hardware - possibly your cpu overheating and shutting the computer down.. try re-seating stuff and check fans/ cabling etc
