The problem...
Have recently installed SP2 on PC, every 10 -20secs the PC freezes/stalls for a few seconds (most noticeable using mouse) then ok. Haven’t noticed any sudden memory or CPU spikes using Task Manager.
No Device conflicts present in Device Manager.Any suggestions?
Alan

what does it say in event viewer post SP2?
(run>eventvwr)
if you are typing text (i.e. using keyboard) does it still falter?
can you disconnect from Internet, disable security (e.g. firewall, anti-virus) and see if it's okay then?
use performance monitor to better see what's going on every 10 seconds.
(run>perfmon)
you can add objects and counters which you think may indicate the spikes; here's one i recommend:
object = processor, counter = interrupt/seclastly, search google and/or microsoft.com for SP2 post-installation issues.

If you have trouble with sp2 after installing boot to the safe mode and go to the boot.ini file in C: drive, Open properties and uncheck the read only box. Then open the file with notepad. Look for
/noexecute=optin. Change it to /noexecute=AlwaysOff.
This has worked for me as drwtsn.exe file has stopped the loading at the desktophttp://computervitals.com/
