I have a USB 2.0 PCMCIA card because the other USB slots are only 1.1. I have an external HDD that works fine with it, but if I try to hook up my iPod through it, the computer immediately freezes.
I encountered this same problem before when I had a wireless PCMCIA card. The PC would freeze when the card was inserted.
My only guess is that it is an IRQ conflict, but I don't know much about them. If I tried changing the IRQ I don't know what to change it to.
