Well the problem is that my computer freezes or lags often, every 30~ seconds or when I make things like opening programs, or even right clicking the task bar.
Curious thing, the task manager doesn't mark my computer as "saturated", I may not be using the computer but it still freezes. Also, there aren't processes that may affect (explorer, firefox, etc have regular memory ussage), and everything seems normal, except for 7~ svchost.exe (which I've heard is normal).
How this started?
Thursday. I turned my laptop on, played FIFA08 for a bit (which I've always did without problems) and then started surfing on firefox, using msn, etc. Needless to say, I have been using my laptop for months, and I've never had problems like this. Then I was about to do some homework and I opened both Microsof Word 2007 (which has never caused trouble before) and Adobe Photoshop CS2 (same with it). Out of nowhere, the freezes started and I had to wait several seconds for the programs to respond again. However, my mouse still works and moves even when the programs are frozen. I tried closing stuff (msn, word, etc) but it kept going. I rebooted my computer, but same time, and it even took years to reboot.
Since then, my computer is just the same. It will take ages to load. Then, a lot of time to open programs (mouse still working, so it's not a full freeze). But I can't make anything, it keeps on freezing every 30-40 seconds. I opened the task manager, and it looks pretty normal. Firefox froze like 50 times while I wrote this. But if it freezes and I keep writing, letters will appear after it "unfreezes".. so it seems like "lag" to me.
Well, I hope you can help me, I'm desperate.
Some other info:
1. My "busy" light in the laptop is almost always on, but task manager shows a low CPU usage most of the times.
2. My configuration/specs was exactly the same when it was normal, and after it started freezing (thursday, out of nowhere)
3. My laptop (hp dv2xxx) has Windows XP, up to date, AVG, 515mb RAM, Intel Centrino Duo (1.7~ghz), and I don't know what more info you need.

PLEASE HELP! xD
Thank you
