PC freeze at RAM count

My pc freezes when it does the ram check on the boot up and it also restarts on its on...and also freezes on the windows boot screen. pls help...thanx

It sounds like your ram might be faulty. You may want to open your case and make sure that your ram is properly seated. Also goto www.memtest86.com and download Memtest86. It will tell you if your ram is bad.

Are you using DDRAM?
Many recent reports of instability and total system failure have been traced back to an inadequite power supply.
Power supply rating is more than just "wattage". The power supply must be capable of delivering sufficient power to component of the system. Pentium IV and Athlon XP systems with DDR memory can be particularly demanding.

It suggests that the +3.3V output should be rated at 28 AMPS! [forget the power /watts it's the current / AMPS that counts].
