Hi, it's bit of a strange situation. I have a pc that works fine in my office, but when it is taken to another room, it starts without the normal startup beep. The green light is lit up but nothing seems to happen on the monitor. Other computers are working fine in that room. I have thus far tried different monitors, power points and power cables but nothing seems to work. Back in my office, it beeps normally and monitor turns on and everything seems to work fine. Any clues???

aki_dha, SWAG, often a stray magnetic field will cause erratic behaviour. Perhaps it's too close to a speaker, coffee pot, etc. Try a different location within the different location. HTH. Ed in Texas.

Hi,
To add to Ed's reply, another thing that might have a magnet is a desk cooling fan. I had a problem a few years ago with a monitor that its video would look smaller or just weird. I was advised to move my cooling desk fan away because its magnet was creating a magnetic feild. As soon as I movd the fam away, the video was fine. So as Ed sugegsted, place it in a different location.
