pc does not detect monitor on startup

Specs: Windows XP
Sometimes when I turn on the pc, monitor not detected, I have to turn on and off several times, and I might get lucky, and it boots up, I have a desktop HP Pavillion 533w tower, after it comes on it works fine(my computer) no blue screens or anything, my computer is clean viruses etc... I tried resetting my memory sticks it seems not to be the problem it still happens, I think it's my power supply, but everything is on and running except my monitor, and it displays Monitor is working fine I have a Gateway EV910, if I hookup this Monitor to another desktop computer it connects right-a-away No Problems, in fact I writing this on my problem computer, Note... My graphics all updated, please help if you have any suggestions on what causing this. Thanks Puzzled 123

A yellow,or orange, monitor indicator light indicates no signal is getting to the monitor from the video card. Could be the card is not sending a signal, or
problem with the cable or connectors. Card may not be seated properly.

Ever look inside the tower for an excess of dust. ???

Thanks, I'll try to reseat the card and clean out inside of tower, I think the problem must be minor and you could be right, anyway I will let you know the outcome.
