Do you ever get that horrible sickening feeling when you run something on your works PC and then it crashes? Well I wonder if someone can help me. I have just run PC Doctor (not used it on the inherited PC before) it came up and said checking system, this might take 60 seconds. After about 10 seconds the PC switched itself off. I was able to turn it back on but it came up using the battery. I disconnected the power supply reconnected it and the PC crashed. Switched back on, removed the plug from the wall, plugged it back in, saw the PC switch from battery mode to normal, then it switched off again. It's almost as if it's done something to the power supply or somehow disabled the PSU function. Problem is I only have 77% of battery left, god knows what I will do when it goes flat.
Many thanks Blum

Well, I take it your using a laptop...I have the slightest idea about those and the differences between ...bla bla bla...anyways, I dont like that PC DOCTOR program, esp if u just get it, it detects things, but doesnt remove them unless you buy it. I recommend getting Ad-aware, Spybot search and destroy, and other freebies. not really sure if it would have been that Pc doc that caused the problem, but sounds like its a good possibility, so, I'd get rid of it if I were you. Can you do , like a system restore or revert at all to take it back before you installed that and ran it?

wait, im such a moron, i was thinking of something else, not PC doctor....geeesh, actually, now that i think about it, I have had a similar problem with my computer and runing that, every time i ran it, it would give me the blue screen error and say a load of crap. Well, I tried several things, and called Dell, and did this and did that, eventually, I had to do a full reinstallation of XP....so, I dunno what to tell ya. man am i dumb, or maybe just tired...yeah, thats it, Im tired, excuse me!

PC Doctor is just an application to check your system for errors and is not likely the cause of your problem.
Power supplies can go at anytime with little or no warning. It is likely just a coincidence that it happened at the same time.
If this is your work laptop, take it to your IT dept or person responsible for servicing your computer equipment so they can arrange to have the power supply replaced.
