I got one of these with a duron processor and thought I got a "deal", well I have nothing but problems with it, even if you can get it to work, I would send it in for a refund, cut your losses and pay the restocking fee! But, if you would like to keep the board, try using an offboard video card, also, when you booted it it for just a few seconds did you use a CPU FAN securely on the CPU? On the older processors 233MHz and slower, I used to just sit the fan on top and with out pushing the clips down, well I did this on a Socket A processor and blew it with in seconds! I learned my lesson and will not attempt that again! But if im reading your post right you tried the CPU in another board so thats prolly not the problem, my guess is one of the circuits were going out and when you put a little juice to it it went out for good.

I had the model number wrong. It is a M810 series rev. 7.1A. Any suggestions on what MOBO to order if I am able to send this one back? What I need is a motherboard that will work with the AMD XP1900 processor that I have. I also need the motherboard to accept PC133 memory. I have extra sound and video cards so this is not a concern.

Yeah, the processor and fan were correctly seated. I spent a good hour checking and rechecking everything before I powered it up. I learned my lesson after I wasted the first XP1900 processor through putting too much pressure on it. My only concern, which I will check today, is that when I put the processor back in the Biostar MOBO, it semi powered up, but I was unable to get any video. What I am seriously thinking about doing is to return the MOBO and exchange for a barebone system that has already been burned in.

I have had the worst luck with putting together this system. I began back at the begining of October with buying the case, DVD drive, floppy, and 400watt power supply from a EBAY auction for 80 with shipping. Then I bought a XP1900 processor with Biostar M7VKQ mobo combo for 150.00. So far so good. When I went to assemble the MOBO and processor, I got nothing. Took the comp to a PC shop and paid 25 dollars for diagnostic work. They found nothing wrong with the set up. They suggested that it was either the MOBO or the processor (alot of help they were) Returned MOBO and processor for 12 dollars shipping. Got a response from the supplier that the processor was incorrectly mounted. They sold me a new procesor for half price, also ordered a copper shim and transference compound to the tune of $55. Put everything back together and got something I did not want, received multiple blue screens and automatic reboots. Biostar tech support sent me the latest BIOS, installed and no change in being able to install. Second email asked if I had tried to reload the software ( I would have strangled the techie if he was within arms reach for that asinine reply). Decided to try an new mobo. Did research and found good and bad on the PC Chips M810 received yesterday and you know the rest of the story!!!!!!!!
