As has probably already been posted here, Microsoft plans to release 12 sets of security patches next Tuesday to fix critical vulnerabilities in a number of its products.
The pièce de resistance, though, is mentioned in a PC World article on the subject. To wit:
". . .Microsoft will also publish an update that patches critical flaws in its Windows Live OneCare, Antigen, Windows Defender, and ForeFront security software."

Well, it sure needs patching. I finally deleted it and continue to depend on the tried and trues like AdAware, Spybot, Spyware Blaster, etc. Maybe I'll try again after Tuesday.

Salgolf, I've also deleted WD - for a couple of reasons.
The utility began generating a half dozen restore points per day. I simply don't need or want that many.
Second, it gave false positives in a couple of root kit scanners I use. I also don't need the sickening thrill of believing I've got a root kit in the operating system. :)
