You cannot set password on folders. You set permissions so that only those the administrator, which should be you, has allowed access. Look up permission sin the XP Help files.

As Stuart said, setting up password on folder is not a built in feature. however you can go for some third party apps. Google for lock folder windows xp software.

As update , the passwords feature was only in Windows 98 , and after that it was converted to permissions. You can set ermissions for the folders in such a way that even other admins cannot open it . The partitions should be NTFS formatted.

If you have xp pro you can encrypt the folder.

If you installs some third party software you can encrypt the folder.

Anything less than encryption is simply useless as a security measure.
