i just bought a new computer... with OS XP.
before i was using ME. everything is working just fine. i just was wondering about something.
with ME, when i would come out of STANDBY, i had it set to enter a password (the same as when you boot up and have the password enabled) now, with XP, with that setting turned on, its not the same, you can still log on to windows. i want it, so when i come out of standby, you have to enter a password, no username, just a password... in order to get back to windows... is this possible with XP? another quicky too... is there anyway to password protect files, or folders in XP? any good programs to do so? just something to keep people out. i would like it, that when you click on the file/or/folder, a box would popup, enter the password, you can view the file/folder. wrong password, you cant. anything simple like that anyone know of? thanks a bunch!!

Goto Start, Settings, Control Panels, Power Options. Under the advanced tab, there's a check box for Prompt for password when computer resumes from standby. Click Apply and you have that option set.
