I have a HP 500 LAPTOP.I have a problem; while i press the key "f10" to enter into the BIOS setting, there is a green rectangular size of window appeared. It commands to press administrator password. But even if pressing my administrator password correctly,it can't take the password. My password is a ten digit number. For this reason i can't entered into the BIOS setting. So please suggest me what to do.

Don't confuse your administrator Vista password with the bios password. They are not the same.
Bios's usually have supervisor and user not administrators.

yes...reseting bios to defaults reset the windows password --- for that you`ll need to perform a windows repair instalation

Yes, and ignore the CMOS battery thing because you will have to tear your laptop apart to do this and it will void your warranty. You can call HP tech support and they will give you a backdoor password to reset your administrator password.

As a warranty service tech for various vendors I would like to clarify the comment about contacting tech support. Most manufacturers will not provide password clearance over the phone. The require you to take it to a service provider for that service. You can try google to see if anyone has a method but that is not an option for most brands. Many laptops have the BIOS battery soldered to the board and you will not be able to disconnect it. Trying to unsolder and reconnect at home can be dangerous because applying heat in the wrong spot on the battery can cause overheat and it may explode.
I am not sure where the statement that changing the BIOS password resets the Windows admin password came from. There should be no connection between the BIOS and any Windows level password.
You can try the option for phone but do not be surprised if they do not provide any information about resets.
