hi,
when i am searching my hard drive (by right clicking on the HDD and going to search) from time to time it comes up with a box requesting a password which i am very unaware of what it is.
does anyone know why this is appearing and how can i get rid of it?

You didn't mention a "Networked" HDD. Are you talking about a shared drive on a server or machine other than the one you're sitting in front of? More details would help immensely.

when i am searching for something on the networked HDD, on a certain machine it is asking for a password but when searching for the exact same thing on a different machine (but still searching the networked HDD) it is not asking for a password.
this would me, to me anyways, that it has something to do with the computer and not one, or some of the files being encrypted or password protected.
