Password for open folders

Hi again, its possible to asign a password to open certains folders (no My Docs or others) just a simle folder in any drive?

Are the folders/files being accessed locally or through a share? What type of files are they? Microsoft Office has built-in security where you can password protect files. Or, are you talking about other file types?

he is wondering about password protecting folders on his local hardrive.. no, this is not possible unless some 3rd party software is inolved i.e http://www.protect-folders.com/
http://www.folder-password-expert.com/screenshots.html

i have never used the programs above.. just found them by googling...


if it is a networked folder, then you can assign it permission based on computer/user

ps.. you could also zip it, and add password to the zip file (winzip for instance)
