Windows XP Home does not have it whereas Windows XP Pro do. Boot to Safe Mode for the tab.

Clarify: When you boot to Safe Mode make sure you log on under an Administrator. Otherwise the tab will not appear. Also I believe the file system has to be NTFS.

The way you protect it is leave share's open and protect the files using ntfs permissions. Disable simple file sharing and then you can allow authenticated users.

XP Home does not use passwords. You set up an account on the local machine equal to the account the the person is looged in under on the remote machine (same user name and password).
Sorry, I do not check for private messages

Xp Home cannot have simple file sharing removed. If you want use a third party piece of software to password protect files (WinRAR does it however that is a compression agent). I'm sorry but i don't know any software beside winrar as i never need to protect files like that.
