Hi!
I have partitioned a drive with PM 8.0 and the active drive is Windows 98 C: No Name, the other is winxp not visible. Now i want to install another OS, winxp on this 15gb partition. Can i use Pqboot 32 or PQ Boot for windows? Or do i stay in PM application and install it from there? I got this far before but never installed another system. Thanks so much.

Ok let me make an assumption here. As you are not too clear on this. Do you only have ONE HD?? And you are saying that on this drive you still have 15 gig free space left and you want to add another OS to that partition?? No you don’t have to use PQboot for that. Just go into PM and create a new partition with Fat32 or NTFS or whatever you want.. but you need to do that with your PM boot disk. That boots you into PM before you ever get into any OS.. well actually you can still create the partition from an existing OS as well. You will then format that.. and make it the active partition. And then load the new OS on that. THEN you can use PQ boot to have the multi boot screen come up if that is what you are looking for.

To set a dualboot environment you need to install the second system by yourself (it's strongly recommended to install it to another partition) and only after that set proper options in PM.

Pretty sure PQboot supports some unreal number of OS's. I have it but never used it. Seems like I always heard it was a good program.

There might be some real odd situations where the last few bits of the mbr are used on XP. Might happen with ide/scsi combo's.

This is a follow up from the first message:
Well i'm in an entanglement now after learning a lot from PM and thought i knew it all, but it backed fired on me when i used DriveMapper to changed some partitions around. But here is where i'm at now:
My start up Partition is (D:) NTFS Status NONE Logical with winXP. Were i had to install PartitionMagic because the (F:) partition does not come up.

But the Active Primary is on (F:) on which i had partitioned an earlier time under C: but i reinstalled WinXp on this, did a complete format and obviously changed w/drive mapper.

I have a third (E:) but nothing installed,(formated).

When I attempt to install BootMagic on (D:) it wants to install on (E:) Thats crazy!
Tried to make (D:) Active but no luck. I will do anything to get this on track and I'M NOT WORRIED ABOUT BACKING UP ANY DATA. Would like to hear from some one.
