I have recently upgraded to a new hdd. I would like to use the old hdd as a back up hdd. After slaving the old hdd it is recognized as drive G and F. I formatted both G and F no problem. I would like to take it one step further, and unpartition the drive. Any ideas as to how to go about that without spending any money? Any imput would be appreciated.

Right click on My Computer and select 'Manage'. Select Storage and Disk Management. You can then remove the partitioning for the drive and repartition and format it.

The proper term would be "Repartition." aegis is right. Delete the current partitions on your second drive and create a new, single partition.
Life's more painless for the brainless.
