Comment:

this is a sort of odd question. i have a 40gb hard drive, which is already partitioned into a 30gb, where windows and programs reside, and a 10gb, which is for other stuff, like music.

now, what i want to do is make another 4gb partition out of the 30gb partition without loosing any data. i have about 12.5gb left on it right now.

can someone please tell me a way of doing this?

thanks,
Dave

Partition Magic 7 or 8 will reduce the size of the 30gb without destroying data.

Another good program is Acronis Partition Expert, less prone to errors unlike PQPM.
