is there a merge partition otion? that would be your best bet.
delete partition would remove the partition but also delete any data in that partition

Pretty basic. You remove all partitions. You create a new one encompassing the entire disk. Secure delete does multiple overwrite passes to securely wipe the data. This is not the same as deleting a partition.

If this is the only hard drive in your PC and you dont care what is in it then you could use the Microsoft delpart (123kb) utility which is available from here

You can also see delpart related information

I used partition magic and deleted both drives C: and D: Note: drive C: was active Primary, and there was a * Extended status assicuated with C: When I deleted drive C:,D: and the associated * extended , it showed my full size hard drive memory as unalocated.. I then went to create a new C: drive.. I assume I would select "Primary" over Logical.. when I clicked on Primary it noted that :
This partition crosses the 1024 cylinder boundry and may not be bootable.. size 76,253.8

what does that mean? What should I do ? deleting the drives was easy, now what should I do to create a new C: drive? I assume making it primary/active?
basically I am still needing help as I am afraid to go any farther due to the message about it notbeing bootable. and not knowing what that ment,

I do not want to save any info on my computer , willing to re-install windows xp home..

Once you have deleted the existing partitions, leave the HD empty.

When you install XP home you can use the install process to create the partition/s that you want.

The 1024 cyclinder limit is associated with older systems. It limits the maximum hard disk size that can be handled. This limit depends on the version and type of BIOS employed in the motherboard.

You can read more about it here.
