Hi,
I just installed Xp on a home built computer.
I partitioned the HD into 3 parts, one for windows, one for documents, and one for programs.
I was wondering how i could make the C: only contain the WINDOWS folder, and move "Documents and Settings" and "Program Files" into the other partitions?

Tweakui will do it. Look in the 'My Computer' tab.
Make sure you set up the folders in the new location before doing the change.

Hi,

You may want to do that but be advised you will shed a lot of blood, sweat and tears in trying and probably will give up in frustration. All the Microsoft applications are tightly integrated and if one application can't find another application where it expects it to be it will not be happy. So if you try to move the Program Files folder containing programs such as Internet Explorer and Outlook Express the results are unpreditable but basically it will be start over time.

Good Luck

I'll have to go with Emmett with this. It's just not worth it. If you are concerned with the amount of activity that goes on with your C drive, so am I. I never install to C, but even so it gets screwed with all the time. I moved my documents out of there and left 7 gigs on the C drive for them to expand into.

There are enough weird little things without creating your own problems.

Just install the basic setup onto the c:\ and then install all new prgroms into your other drives.
Tweakui can change the default setting for you documents as well as alot more.
