Comment:

I just installed Win XP on my new 120GB HD, and tried to partition it with Partition Magic 7.0, however it only supports drives up to 80gb. I want to make 5 partitions; one NTFS 5GB for XP, one 5GB Ext2 for Linux, one Fat32 to use between XP and Linux, one NTFS for programs and one NTFS for files. Is it possible to use fdisk for this ( I dont know if it kan make NTFS partitions), and if so how do you run it using XP ( I dont think XP has fdisk). I'm very new to this so detailed information would be good :). Thx in advance

keep all partitions/os'es in the fat 32 mode. win xp sets up the dual boot when you install it. install linux first.
yes, use a win98 boot disk to fdisk and partition the drive as you want.
then, format the c:
a:\format c:/s
then install linux drive c:
xp must be on d or what ever

no need to install linux 1st
install xp & then linux, linux will ask where u want it & suggest partition sizes & create a boot manager
keeping things in fat 32 will allow all OSs to read all partitons
