Hye everyone, I've been trying to figure out how to do a clean install of Windows XP, and I know I have to delete the main partition to start a new right? But it won't let me it says Windows Setup files are stored there, but why can't it just go right from the CD? If you could help I'd aprriciate it. Thanks.

It will if you change first boot device in bios to cd rom and boot to the xp cd. If you dont change it, it will not.

No you don't have to delete a partition you choose to install on that partition and the next option on the install is to format it. You will then do that and then install on same partition.
