I had some great help yesterday with another issue and thought I would try this one.
I need to replace 12 characters in a text file with a different string of 12 characters. How could I do this in a batch script?
to get more specific its on the fifth line 37 characters in from the left and 14 in from the right.
I was planning on using the set /p to get the new info, as input from the user, and that will become the string that will be replacing the existing data.
Thanks in advance

jbravo, programing is a sorta specialized thing. Suspect you'll have more luck getting an answer if you ask your ? on the programing forum.
