The problems started when I was trying to get around the Windows XP/Adobe Photoshop 7 issue.
I dual boot Windows 98 and Windows XP.
Drive C: - 2gb Windows 98
Drive D: - 5Gb Windows XP
Drive E: - my driveFrom someones suggestion I changed the pagefile on d: to 'managed by windows'.
Then when I booted into XP it came up saying 'you have run out of space on drive c:'.
For some reason the pagefile was written to c: so I switched it back to d: with no pagefile on c: or e:.Now whenever I boot up into XP it hangs for about a minute then says I've run out of space on drive C: - even though there is over 1Gb free and no pagefile there?!
Any suggestions?

Low Disk Space - Disable Low Disk Space Message
Start/Run/Regedit
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Policies\Explorer. Create or modify: NoLowDiskSpaceChecks REG_DWORD and set the value to 1. Logoff/Reboot.

you should set C pagefile to no pagefile, D pagefile to no pagefile, and E pagefile to 2000MB min and 2000MB max. Then reboot your computer and manually delete the unused pagefile.sys file on your C drive and D drive. Windows doesnt delete this file after you change swapfiles. You may have to go to folder options and set hide system files to off before you can delete it.

XP gives you the option of not using the pagefile if you have more
than 512MB of RAM. To disable the pagefile, perform the following
steps:
1. Start the Control Panel System applet (go to Start, Settings,
Control Panel, and click System).
2. Select the Advanced tab.
3. Under the Performance section, click Settings.
4. Select the Advanced tab.
5. Under the Virtual Memory section, click Change.
6. Select No Paging File and click Set.
7. Click OK.===========================================
You can move the pagefile to another partition .
