the page file usage for my computer is about 90% full, yet the CPU usage acts fine, even when running one or two programs. It is slowing the computer massively, and ive checked for viruses using spybot and symantec. any ideas?

page file is only used when you run out of physical memory. How big is your page file?

Go to task manager, click on the "Processes" tab, and then click on "memory usage" to sort it by that column...see which programs are taking a big chunk of your memory.

I had been having the same problem. Check your desktop folders. My computer had saved several months worth of deletions, about a two gigs worth, in my MY DOCUMENTS folder. I re deleted them and life has been good again.

good luck
