tropic - 512Mb RAM should be sufficient ?
lina - have you tried letting Windows manage your Page-File?

My son uses auto cad, and told me it needs a lot of memory. I go along with Tropic.

Autocad has ALWAYS required a huge amount of memory. Add more physical ram. You can't make up the ram shortage with the pagefile.

The pagefile might be fragmented too much. This little free program will concentrate on defragmenting the system files, so that the HardDisk has easier access to them: ▫ PageDefrag (SysInternals)
But I also agree with the replies above: if the drawings in AutoCAD are too big for the memory, then just get more memory - no way around it, and your whole system will benefit, especially if you need to open other applications at the same time. ___________________________________________ ☺ [Belgium, GMT+1]_________________________svg
