I have a Intel P4 bases on SDRam
768 MB SDM, Geforce 3, SD Live Value all lastest drivers I can get.I had win xp home running fine.
I upgraded to WIn XP Pro and I have 2 issues that I can't seem to resolve.1- everytime I boot it says your system has no page file...... and tell you how to change it.
I have changed it to system controlled, to 1150 min and max on all drives, 1 drive and every time it reboots to complete changes and I get that message again and the page file is 0.
I tried logging on under the built in Admin account, giving myself all rights, etc. I can't get the page file settings to stay?
I keep getting this Blue screen of death stateing windows shut down to prevent harm to the system. That also started with the upgrade. I know I am not at home so I don't have more info on this issue but the page file is the big one right now.
THANK YOU,
Ron

Only thing I can think of is that the partition the operating system is on isn't big enough. You could try reducing the size of system restore and see if that helps.

Page file on the first harddrive must be a minumume 287 mb. don't know why but that seems to fix it. also a max of 800 seems to make the system run smooth. anymore and it began to "stick"
