I have a linksys network. The computer that is connected to the router is fast and works fine. The computer that has the wireless usb adapter has a really slow connection. The signal is excellent. Is this due to packet loss? If so is there any way of fixing it? My downloading speed on the wireless usb is horrible. I download at like 2 kbps. Do you think the wireless PCI Card would be faster? Also I know there is a new version of the linksys router, the 802.11g. Should I get the new version?

Even "perfect" wireless connections on the LAN run considerably slower than those using and ethernet cable. Fact of life (or laws of physics--much less bandwidth). Your wireless connection is also severely affected by the distance to the router. I note no difference between a USB and a wireless NIC connection at the PC.
The 11g wireless protocol is usually many time faster than 11b, but still not up to a wired connection. You, of course, would need both a new router and new 11g hardware for the PC.
