I use pop peeper to access all of my email accounts msn mail, yahoo mail, sbcglobal mail. My pop peeper just stopped notifing me of msn mail. I searched the pop peepper forums and discovered due to some changes within hot mail (msn mail) pop peeper will no longer notify me of hot mail, unless I install a fix. They expressed that I should download a updated dll file (webmail dll) and overwrite the old webmail dll file. My only problem is that I never have overwritten a dll file before. I know messing with dll files can really create some problems. I have done a search and located the old webmail dll, but I would appreciate it if anyone could walk me through how to overwrite the old webmail file. Thanks

When attempting to copy the dll to wherever it resides you will get a screen asking if you wish to replace the existing dll. Alternatively you could rename the old dll or make a copy of it in case the fix goes bad. I am guessing the program that is giving you this message will also point you in the right direction. If not, use the search function from the start button to find where the dll resides. Use that same path to replace.

One last thing you may want to do. Create a restore point just prior to performing the dll replacement. Post back if you don't know how to create a restore point.

Thank you OtheHill, for your quick response. I was easily able to overwrite the old dll with the recommended one, as a result of you excellent instructions. I'm happy to say at this point my pop peeper works like a charm!!!!!!!!!!!!! and I'm not as afraid to mess with scary dll files. However, I will continue to treat them with a great deal of respect. Thanks again.
