Override XP password on PC not used for years

Specs: Windows XP
I was given a very old pc by a family friend which was used by their children. It is windows xp password protected and neither child can remember their password as the pc has been unused for years. Is there anyway I can bypass this to log on?

reformat and re-install the operating system.
You said nothing about PC specs so you can google to see if the PC has a hidden partition you can boot to.

Some HELP in posting on Computing.net plus free progs and instructions Cheers

Try clearing the password(s), if that doesn't work, you can always reformat & reinstall. Once you login, you may find the system in such a mess that reformatting is the best way to go anyway. Have a look at this:
