Hello. Hopefully someone on this board can help me with an Outlook problem (5.0,6.0, and Outlook 2000). Outlook will not save the e-mail server password. I contacted Gateway and two techs said this is a open issue w/ Microsoft and a solution is not available??? This is my first XP install. I think XP is great but can not believe MS would release XP OS with this password problem. Thanks

from within outlook : go to tools, accounts.....and from within the account setup is a place to put your password and a box to check to save that password. do it, hit apply, then hit send/receive and it should work.
btw - Gateway tech support sucks. they will tell you that anything they can't fix is an open issue w/ Microsoft.
i would also reccomend moving up to Office XP if possible. it runs much faster with WinXP (they were made for each other).
