With outlook express open click on tools then accounts, click on the mail tab then on your mail account then properties. with properties open under your mail account click on the connection tab. check connect to this account using and choose your style my friend. You have a nice day now.
Also you will have to do that for all your mail accounts if you wont them to all be checked via your dialup.

Thanks doc. That works for recieving but I still can't send. The only way I can send email is I have to use my dial up isp. It doesn't make sense that I can recieve my email when using my cable internet but I can't send unless I connect using my dial up.

Your cable company should be able to tell you the settings for your email. Ring them or try their website; you're paying for it.

You can receive mail from anywhere as long as you have the right settings, username and password but you can only send through the ISP you're connected to at the time.

This is normal but when composing your mail you'll have to remember which ISP you want to post it through.

Im a little confused now. What i understand you saying is while your connected to internet you wont to connect again with dialup and send mail is that right? In other words two connections at one time, I dont think that will fly. Do you wont to recieve and send email with just your dialup or would you like to be able to recieve and send with your new connection via cable? Break it down a little more for me.

I think i understand a little better. You just want to be able to send and recieve your email and that includes all email accounts while your connected thru your cable connection. If that is so you need to make sure the incoming mail server info is right and the outgoing mail server info is right. You may have to call your dial email address provider to find out what the outgoing mail smtp settings are. If you are recieving then evidently the incoming is right.

Also you may have to check Under the server tab OUTGOING MAIL SERVER my server requires authentication and set those settings.

Ive about done confused myself and probably you too. LOL Like the guy up above said, ring your cable company and complain with them. They will set you up over the phone in just a few. GOOD LUCK FRIEND

I figured out how to get it to work. For incoming mail i use my dial up isp and for outgoing i use my cable isp. This will allow me to send and receive email keeping my dial up email address while using my cable internet. This has been very confusing.

Thanks
