Hi.
Can anyone tell me if Outlook Express (any version) can be used with WXPPro / OfficeXP?
I know that Outlook loads automatically but i'm not used to it at all & would rather stick to Outlook Express wherever possible.
Are we 'forced' to use Outlook under XPPro/OfficeXP or can it be discarded & Outlook Express installed instead? (by either download or purchase).
My main concern is that i cannot 'see' my old messages & addresses under Outlook & cannot seem to transfer them over at all.
Thanx.
GS.

Outlook Express installs automatically with Win XP. It is built-in.

Its up to you which one you use.

just make your outlook express 6 your default mail manager and discard MSOutlook.

I use both, outlook for my main e-mail and O-Express 6 for junk mail.

Outlook being for my main e-mail is the default manager.

Thanks everyone.
The next million-dollar question is: HOW does one discard MSOutlook & install OExpress in its place?
MSOutlook seems a pretty powerful app & doesn't look all that bad (when working) but i still prefer OExpress.
Do i need to go into the WXPPro app. (or)can it be installed independantly from another source?
ThanX.
GS.

OE should be there already if you are running XP. Look in Start>All Programs. Don't "disgard" Outlook. Just don't use it. Ignore it.

Dirk, don't laugh but I can see the great potential in Outlook but don't know how to use it properly ie as a good admin tool. Besides, I seem to get intermittent faults like not being able to rely on sending and receiving emails. It's all me no doubt, any clues?
Incidentally how can I get sticky notes to stay on screen when I log out of Outlook.
Thanks Pat
