Outlook Express Sound Problem

Comment:
Outlook Express refuses to play my selected sound for incoming mail now, although this was working fine until a few days ago. I can play the sound selected when I am in the Control Panel/Sounds and Audio devices panel, but somewhere between there and Outlook Express, a problem occurs and there is no sound for incoming mail. My sound card is properly installed, and the sound drivers seem to be working OK - troubleshooting indicates that there is no problem with anything there. What is causing this? I have done all the necessary stuff in both the Control Panel and Outlook Express setup screens, so everything should be working fine (but is not).
