When I send an e-mail in outlook express tt doesn't end up in the sent folder.It was ok but has stopped working.The box is still ticked in the sent options .The sent folder had a lot of entries in it so I deleted about 10 of them but this didn't help. Any suggestions?

I would suggest creating a new folder and move everything from the 'sent' folder to it. Then delete the sent folder. OE will automatically recreate it,
I think it's a good policy to keep the inbox and sent boxes empty, by moving the messages to other folders.
